Makerspaces at VCU
Below, you will find a list of "makerspaces" at VCU. These spaces often include resources such as 3D printers/scanners, large-format printers/scanners for poster-printing and other types of media projects, augmented/virtual reality headsets, green-screen rooms for video projects, audio recording booths, and so much more!
Although some spaces are available to any currently-enrolled VCU student, some are restricted to students who are enrolled in a specific major or who make be taking classes within a specific college/school or department. However, where appropriate, we've provided links to these spaces so you can learn more through the websites of the groups who manage them.
This may not be an exhaustive list, and will be updated at least once per semester to included new spaces and updates to equipment and availability of existing spaces.
VCU da Vinci Center for Innovation Workshop
Located at 807 South Cathedral off of Floyd Ave, the da Vinci Center for Innovation offers it's students access to their own workshop with a variety of computers (both Windows and macOS), 3D printers/scanners, and power tools to build and tinker. VCU Libraries Makerspaces
VCU Libraries offers access to several makerspaces with a variety of computers (both Windows and macOS), tools such as 3D printers/scanners and large-format printers/scanners, audio/video recording and production equipment, and AR/VR gear, green screens, and much more! VCU School of the Arts Creative Printing Bureau
Located in room 219 of the Pollak Building, the Creative Printing Bureau is a student-operated printing space within VCU School of the Arts providing printing access to ALL VCU students, faculty, and staff.
